On The Line

This project included a self supported 70km walk around the Dyounde Massif in Mali, 50km across the Niger floodplain and an extensive exploration of the upper reaches of the Bani River by dugout canoe.

 

The main objective was to create new hiking routes for tourism purposes as part of the 'On The Line' project initiated by Oxfam, Channel 4 and The World Wildlife Fund.

 

It also involved a 150km walk, self supported, through rural Burkina Faso, and a 75km walk, coast to coast, across Gambia.
