A warming drink to combat inflammation and induce good circulation and general well being
Most of my recipes go straight onto my blog page, yet a few make it here so they can be easily seen and found because they're ones I feel are the most important, the sort of combinations I use every day.
This recipe is for a drink I have every morning, before breakfast, alongside a pint of cold water. You can google the healing powers of the individual ingredients but beware, you'll be at it along time as there are so many benefits to consuming these!
For starters, the Turmeric is the number 1 way of combatting inflammations, wherever they may occur in the body. It's also known to help those in remission from cancer get better. It has to be consumed with black pepper to help with absorbtion though, hence that ingredient being included.
Lemon. There are mixed views on whether having lemon water in the morning is a great detox measure or just a fad. What is sure to me, however, is that it helps with the taste of apple cider vinegar, which is always a touch sharp whatever time of day you have it!
Cayenne Pepper. Superb for helping your circulation. I was advised to take this to help my varicose veins and it has been of visible benefit in just 2 months.
Apple Cider Vinegar. For so many reasons this is an important food to take daily. Humans have been using vinegar for medicinal purposes for over 2,000 years. I shan't list reasons why here, otherwise I'll just be like a hundred thousand other blogs. I'll just say that when I don't take it, I really feel the loss in my sense of vitality.
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Pinch of Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Half tsp Cayenne Pepper
Juice of half a Lemon (I also use Lime if I'm out of Lemons).
Add it all to a glass and top up with warm water.
Use the discarded lemon or lime peel and pulp to give flavour to your pint of cold water.
